If you’re beginning your career journey or performing at your peak level, we invite you to consider our aviation family for your career.<br><br>MAA is currently accepting applications for the position of <strong>Airfield Painter (Skilled Trade Specialist II) </strong>within the <strong>Office of Grounds Maintenance, Field Maintenance Section (OGM) </strong>at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.<br><br>The <strong>Skilled Trade Specialist II, Painter </strong>position will be responsible for painting airfield markings per FAA Advisory Circular (AC) 150/5340-1M and performing all types of preventive and corrective maintenance and repair on all grounds, fence lines, taxiways, runways, ramp areas, roadways, grass areas within the surrounding areas of the BWI Thurgood Marshall and MTN campus.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities may include but <em>are not limited</em> to the following:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Painting on runways and taxiways using equipment such as walk behind paint machines, intermediate paint machines for enhanced centerlines, and a large, specialized paint truck for runway centerlines, thresholds, touchdown zones, etc.</li><li>Turf management, Asphalt, and concrete repair, and FOD removal using various types of equipment for the specific task.</li><li>Operate Snow Removal Equipment for training exercise, maintenance, or weather emergency.</li><li>Escorting contractors on airfield and maintain communications with FAA Air Traffic Controllers.<br><br></li></ul><strong><em>This position is located at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport in Anne Arundel County, MD.<br><br></em></strong><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong>Minimum Qualifications:<br><br></strong><strong>Education: </strong>Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.<br><br><strong>Experience</strong>: Three years of experience performing skilled trade work in painting.<br><br><strong>Notes<br><br></strong><ul><li> Additional work experience performing skilled trades as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.</li><li> A certificate from a vocational technical school with a major in one or more of the skilled trades as defined above may be substituted for one year of the required general experience.</li><li> Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in utilities repair classifications or construction and engineering specialty codes in the skilled trades as defined above field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.<br><br></li></ul>Licenses & Certifications<br><br><ul><li> Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of motor vehicles. Employees are required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
