Job Summary

Discord is seeking a dedicated and passionate Online Community Moderator to help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for our users. As a moderator, you will be responsible for ensuring that community guidelines are followed, assisting users, managing conversations, and fostering a positive experience across multiple online platforms. This role requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor community chats, channels, and forums to ensure compliance with Discord’s rules and policies.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to user inquiries and reports.
  • Identify and manage inappropriate content or behavior, including issuing warnings, bans, and reports when necessary.
  • Foster healthy engagement by initiating and moderating discussions, events, and activities.
  • Collaborate with other moderators and Discord staff to improve community management strategies.
  • Maintain detailed moderation logs and documentation for transparency and record-keeping.
  • Provide feedback and insights to the community management team on user trends, concerns, and engagement opportunities.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of community guidelines and moderation policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of online community dynamics and digital etiquette.
  • Ability to handle sensitive or difficult situations with discretion, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with Discord’s interface, bots, and moderation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Experience
