Planner (Electrical & Maintenance)

Job Summary Essential Functions Develops maintenance plans and work packets at an appropriate level of detail considering the size, complexity, and criticality of the job. Work packets shall consist of material/parts listings, procedures, drawings and equipment clearance requests. Coordinates maintenance work schedules with operating and maintenance groups to ensure maintenance requirements to support reliable and efficient unit operations are addressed. Places high priority on environmental equipment and systems maintenance to assure compliance with environmental permits and procedures. Emphasizes the commitment to performing all work in compliance with environmental procedures with crafts and contractors. Issue accurate equipment clearance requests understanding the safety aspects of the job and relaying this understanding to the people involved with the ECR. Assumes duties of maintenance supervisor during absences due to vacation, illness, or special assignment. Responds to emergency calls outside of normal scheduled hours. Develops work scopes and bids specifications for work performed by contracted resources. Manages projects performed by outside contractors in accordance with the Contractors Information Handbook. Performs real time cost tracking of projects to ensure projects are completed within budget. Works closely with Material and Contract Services on material and contract labor procurement issues and dispute resolution. Applies complete cost and labor estimates for all maintenance tasks assigned to crews or the backlog to support the work management and budget process. Develops capital and O&M budget initiatives necessary to ensure long-term reliability of critical generating equipment. Assists in the development of short outage plans to ensure work that is required to support unit reliability is prepared and can be efficiently executed when outage opportunities become available on short notice. Assists operating departments in monitoring equipment and troubleshooting Required Qualifications For Position 5+ years of generating station experience in maintenance or operations or equivalent. Proven technical competence and understanding in the process of fossil fueled electric power production. Knowledge of various computer software packages including, maintenance management, project management, spreadsheets and word processing. Strong organizational and planning skills Manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to encourage teamwork, participation and individual accountability. Understand and can apply the elements of maintenance management process. Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5 years work experience.
