What we are looking for:

High School Diploma or equivalency.
Candidates must be 21 years old, or 20 years old with 60 college credits.
Individuals with honorable military experience, an Associate’s Degree or greater, or current out of state law enforcement certification, or certified Maine Criminal Justice Academy graduates with current police certification are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will be required to successfully pass a background check, a medical, psychological, and polygraph examination.
Non-certified candidates must also successfully pass the Maine Criminal Justice Academy Physical Fitness test as a condition of employment.

Job Description/General Duties:

Provide excellent service to the citizens of Presque Isle while enforcing Maine State criminal and civil law and conducting traffic enforcement within the city limits. Covering the city 24 hours a day, officers work with other officers on shift and often will have to respond to calls by themselves while awaiting backup.
