This role is responsible for assisting in ensuring all fields and grounds meet professional NFL standards for both Lincoln Financial Field and the Jefferson Health Training Complex, helping prepare fields for games, practices, and special events, while operating and maintaining turf equipment and adhering to safety protocols. Key responsibilities include mowing, painting, fertilizing, aerating, and repairing natural grass and synthetic surfaces, as well as maintaining surrounding landscape areas.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS</strong></p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p>The Sports Field and Grounds Assistant will report to the Assistant Sports Field and Grounds Manager.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES </strong></p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <ul> <li>Operate and maintain a variety of groundskeeping equipment, including zero-turn mowers, walk-behind mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, string trimmers, edgers, hedge trimmers, blowers, and turf sprayers.</li> <li>Perform routine mowing, trimming, edging, and detailing of natural grass and landscape areas to maintain professional-quality playing surfaces.</li> <li>Assist with turf care practices such as fertilization, aeration, overseeding, topdressing, and irrigation management.</li> <li>Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides using calibrated sprayers in accordance with safety regulations and best practices.</li> <li>Identify and monitor turfgrass issues including insects, weeds, plant diseases, and other pests; report findings and assist with treatment plans.</li> <li>Prepare fields for practices, games, and special events, including painting lines, logos, and field markings to precise specifications.</li> <li>Maintain and repair divots, worn areas, and high-traffic zones on both natural and synthetic surfaces.</li> <li>Assist in maintaining ornamental landscape areas, including shrubs, trees, and planting beds.</li> <li>Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.</li> <li>Follow all safety guidelines and proper handling procedures for equipment and chemical applications.</li> <li>Work collaboratively with the grounds crew to complete daily tasks and long-term projects efficiently.</li> <li>Lead and supervise small crews when needed, ensuring tasks are completed safely, correctly, and on schedule.</li> <li>Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment across all facilities.</li> <li>Assist with snow removal and other seasonal duties as required.</li> <li>This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong> </strong&
